Aurora
Aurora Aksnes born June 15 1996 in Stavanger and professionally referred to as Aurora or, sometimes, stylized in the form of AURORA is a Norwegian artist and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15th of 2015 it received a raving review from the music blogosphere as well as the press. She's also recorded some high-profile song covers, including Half the World Away (by Oasis), from the band Oasis) for John Lewis' Christmas advert and Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) that have received a lot of praise. Katy Perry, who endorsed the song Runaway with her voice, gave the song a boost of recognition. Happy birthday to her. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memories are of discovering an instrument hidden within her attic, then becoming fascinated with the sounds the instrument produced. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents May Britt Aksnes and Jan Oystein Aksnes urged Aurora Aksnes to take up the piano as a passion or profession. To do this she started writing her own music that was her own. Her sources include renowned artists Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan, as well as the style of Bjork. She decided to start performing the songs she wrote publicly after her mom suggested it could aid people in to not become famous through her music, but rather to help everyone else realize their importance and the ways they impact the world. She started playing piano when she was only six and was writing her first song at the age of nine. They didn't let her parents know about it until the age of fourteen. Aurora wasn't a childhood dream. She says she just likes creating songs. To her, music is one of the most efficient ways to express anything.
